Fall is in Full Swing!

And we at Moff Interactive, Inc. would like to share some exciting news regarding our proud completion of three new web sites!

Pacific Guarantee Mortgage at www.homeapplication.net

Every business owner is looking for ways to streamline their workload to save time. We met that objective for Pacific Guarantee Mortgage with an easy way to make updates to their website, as well as providing easy access to valuable tools for their clients. We worked with Kathi Wheeler at Noise Without Sound to integrate some preexisting features into Pacific Guarantee's redesigned site, maintaining the look, feel, and functionality for the user.

Pacific Guarentee Mortgage

For Pacific Guarantee, we gave them the ability to quickly and easily make additions or changes to their Client Workshops pages, as well as the " About" section of the website. Our team also animated the existing logo with Flash, turning a simple image into an eye-catching, and memorable logo!

Kirsopp Consulting - www.kirsoppconsulting.com

Kirsopp Consulting

Our client, Gale Kirsopp, had a sleek, modern logo for her consulting business. However, her old website was too outdated for her to use this great logo effectively, and that's where our team stepped in. The website is now in sync with her preexisting logo, and once again, we gave her the ability of updating any page on her website, as well as an effortless way to add pages to it. Kirsopp Consulting, LLC, based in Poulsbo, WA, is a financial software consulting firm with a focus on QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, Fishbowl Inventory and custom reporting.

Kingstone Construction - www.kingstoneconstr.com

Kingstone Construction

One of Moff Interactive's core values is that Elegance + Simplicity = Success. For Kingstone Construction, based in Kitsap County, we worked with the client to provide an elegant design, simplicity in ease-of-use, and a solid focus on showcasing their expansive portfolio. Although we feel that the true success of Kingstone Construction is in its owner's skills and integrity - we worked with the client to showcase their truly impressive portfolio to potential clients without any complicated navigation or slow-loading images. Kingstone Construction now has a truly successful website that offers to-the-point information, and images that allow the viewer to appreciate the extensive skills and creativity that is available to them through this fine company.

As always, we optimized each of these three websites for improved search engine rankings.

We invite you to take a tour of these three new websites and, as always, look forward to serving your website design and development needs in the future.

Although we wish the Internet was a completely safe environment for everyone, we realize that's simply not the case. We've provided some information for you on a common hacking technique called Phishing that's more than likely shown up in your Inbox at one time or another.

Going Phishing - Don't Let Hackers Catch You!

Recently, a client of ours was sent an email that seemed a bit unusual to him. It appeared as though he'd received an email from the IRS urging him to take action on a refund that was due to him, or risk losing his refund altogether! In all actuality it was from a talented hacker who was attempting to steal sensitive personal information.

This hacking technique is not new, but the frequency with which it is being attempted is gaining speed. Hackers are getting smarter and more creative every day. Combine that with the busy lifestyle of the average internet user, and you've just created a situation where a good portion of these attempts are successful. One of your best defenses is to be informed, and to know what to look for.

Almost everyone has seen these suspicious email phrases:

"We suspect an unauthorized transaction on your account. To ensure that your account is not compromised, please click the link below and confirm your identity."

"During our regular verification of accounts, we couldn't verify your information. Please click here to update and verify your information."

The goal of all hackers is the same - to gain access to something they shouldn't. However, when it's done via electronic communication in an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire information, it is called phishing. The hacker is attempting to lure personal information (credit card numbers, bank account information, Social Security number, passwords, or other sensitive information) from unsuspecting victims.

Phishing emails look authentic. The hacker uses authentic images, and even the same wording as the organization he is trying to emulate. There is almost always the threat of a dire outcome if a link is not clicked on; the loss of money, the cancellation of an account, etc. Once clicked, the user will be taken to a web page that looks exactly like a legitimate organization's site, but it definitely isn't. It's a bogus site whose sole purpose is to trick you into typing in your personal information so the operators can steal your identity and run up bills or commit crimes in your name.

If you get an email or pop-up message that asks for personal or financial information, do not reply. Never click on the link in the email message. Legitimate companies never ask for this type of information via email. If you are concerned about your account contact the organization mentioned in the email using a telephone number you know to be genuine, or open a new Internet browser session and type in the company's correct Web address yourself. Log in to your account, and see if the company or organization has been trying to contact you. This is the only secure method of ensuring that you are preserving your private information.

One final note; don't cut and paste the link from any suspicious email messages into your Internet browser, as phishers can make links look like they go to one place, but actually send you to a different site.

We highly recommend that you visit the federal government's website on phishing at http://www.onguardonline.gov/phishing.html. OnGuardOnline.gov provides practical tips from the federal government and the technology industry to help you be on guard against Internet fraud, secure your computer, and protect your personal information.
